Internal Flow Field and Loss Analysis of a Magnetic Drive Pump’s Cooling Circuit

The cooling circuit is an important component of the magnetic drive pump because it prevents demagnetization permanent magnet and damage to containment shell owing a high temperature increase. In this paper, flow field losses are discussed experimentally verified based on numerical simulation methods. Five different lengths couplings were designed, distribution, rate, loss variation laws analyzed. results show that rate coupling length have minimal effect velocity distribution in circuit. When increases from 30 mm 55 mm, rise pressure drop at gap increase by 23.1% 25.3%, respectively. remains constant, falls with increasing reduces 8.4% when 0.7 Q 1.3 Q. water friction eddy current length, while decreases. 45% 35%, respectively, decreases 13%.
